Prison Break and Shawshank Redemption

Prison Break centers on Lincoln Burrows, who is arrested for killing the vice-president’s brother, and his brother Michael Scofield, who believes Lincoln was set up. Lincoln’s girlfriend, Veronica Donovan, is a lawyer who thinks she can find a legal loophole to free him. Michael, however, has other plans: he gets himself arrested and sent to the same prison as Lincoln — the prison he helped design. Using his vast knowledge and some allies in the prison, Michael plans the great escape before Lincoln is sent to the electric chair.

Like Michael’s well-crafted plan, Prison Break is a well-crafted story. The audience is given just enough information to understand one element of the plan, while realizing the scheme has taken a different turn. Each character plays an important role in this drama, and as we learn about each inmate and why they are incarcerated, we realize that we need them as much as Michael does. The Library owns all four seasons, as well as the special movie.

The Shawshank Redemption (a movie based on the novella by Stephen King), is similar to Prison Break in that the main character, Andy, appears to have been wrongfully convicted. As with Michael, Andy has a friend in prison, Red, who is facing life but is trying to keep up his spirit. Together, Andy and Red make a formidable team against their corrupt prison authorities. There are also many unexpected twists and turns in this story, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards.

Both Prison Break and The Shawshank Redemption deal with the themes of redemption and perseverance. Lincoln finds redemption because Michael is willing to go to prison and rescue him, while Red finds it as he learns to deal with the guilt of having killed a man. Both Michael and Andy use their knowledge to not let their prisons hold them. Even though the circumstances of prison are awful, and are portrayed here as such, they hold on to the hope that one day they will be free.

Hi, nice blog! Does anyone know which website is the best and has the biggest range of tv shows and films available to view? I came across a site (http://www.prisonbreakseason1.com) which was perfect as I’m a big fan but missed most of season 1. Just hoping to find some other stuff….

Hulu is a good site. Amazon has some series you can pay to download. Imdb.com also has a few tv series you can download. There were some other sites like Fancast and Surf the Channel that are arranged like Hulu, but I haven’t used them. Some sites might not have the best virus protection, so use caution.

To tell the truth, I am voiceless. The Shawshank Redemption is tremendous. I’am quite young movie fan, actually, this film come out whenI was very young, and thence I am more used to films with astounding special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This film has zero of that, and still, it appeals so close to me . Way Frank Darabont uses the story of Red to drive on the tale, the excellent the soundtrack used (note the mouth harp used merely before Red getting the letter close to the end). The entire film, from start to closing, from actions to music, is a lighthouse of desire, assessment, and repurchase. The cast is pure, Morgan Freeman(Red) really brings about a fresh feel to the film, and that is precisely what the movie is, what a film should be. Highly recommended for each film fan.
