Howard County Library System

Teachers

A plus partners in education Howard County Library System provides HCPSS educators with a myriad of resources as they plan lessons and assignments. The A+ Educator library card gives educators special borrowing privileges for materials. Library instructors can present curriculum classes to supplement elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary curricula. Library instructors work in tandem with school media specialists to teach classes such as Multicultural Medley for elementary schools, Folklore and Mythology for middle schools, and Research Remedies for high schools. Library instructors can also recommend appropriate grade level books on specific topics or, for beginning readers, bring stories that improve reading and expand knowledge of literature. Additionally, Library instructors can teach how to use the Library's specialized online research tools, including Online Homework Assistance.

We appreciate when K-12 teachers alert us about upcoming assignments so Library staff can be prepared for student questions. Forms should be faxed to the affiliated partner library branch at least two weeks in advance; Library instructors will call to discuss requests. We can visit you, or you can visit us!
