Howard County Library is in beautiful cherry-blossom bloom each spring, thanks to Howard County Government and Howard County Tourism's Blossoms of Hope project. Visit the Farmers’ Market at the East Columbia and Glenwood branches. Learn about the Library's A+ Partners in Education initiative with the Howard County Public School System and Howard Community College. For a Healthy Community Read about Choose Civility, a countywide initiative involving nearly 100 partners working together to enhance the quality of life and emphasize the importance of civility for all who live and work in Howard County. Get Involved Volunteers play an integral role by providing valuable services to assist both the staff and the public. Friends of Howard County Library is a nonprofit advocacy group that supports Howard County Library in its mission to provide lifelong education, inspire a world of ideas, and ignite the power of knowledge. Tell your personal history or help collect the shared memory of our county by participating in This Is Your Life. Adult Literacy and Services for New Americans Howard County Library's Project Literacy provides adults with free assistance and support to improve their reading, writing, and basic math skills. Cultural Connections seeks to enhance the service needs of Howard County’s diverse multicultural population. Customers with Special Needs Howard County Library offers special services for people who are blind, visually impaired, hearing/speech impaired, and/or physically disabled.
