Located on Cradlerock Way in the Village of Owen Brown, the East Columbia Branch also houses a Senior Center and the Library's Administrative Offices. Recipient of Honor Awards for Architectural Excellence from both the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and from the Maryland Society of the American Institute of Architects, this branch opened in August 1994. The spacious open floor plan, children's rain forest walkway and silent study room add to customers' enjoyment of this branch, which offers materials, classes, and services for all ages.

The East Columbia Branch has 53 computers available to the public. All computers have Internet and word processing capabilities.
