Disabling
pop-up blockers
Google
Toolbar
The Google Popup
Blocker can be told to remember these sites so pop-up windows are allowed to
launch. This information is stored on your computer in what's known as a "whitelist"
(as opposed to a "blacklist"). The Popup Blocker uses the whitelist
to turn itself off when you visit sites whose popups you would like to see.
To add a site to
your whitelist, visit the site and press the Popup Blocker button. The button
text will change to read "Popups okay," indicating that the Popup
Blocker is disabled on the site in question.
Yahoo Toolbar
- Click the Pop-Up
Blocker menu.
- Select "Disable
Pop-Up Blocker".
(If the checkmark was present, Pop-Up Blocker is off.)
Internet
Explorer
- Click on Tools.
- Select Pop-up
blocker.
- Select
Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
Mozilla Firefox

Netscape

*A NOTE ON IPOD COMPATABILITY:*
Howard County Library very much wants our vendors to provide
IPOD compatible access to their products. The vendors themselves
want very much to offer it, since doing so would vastly increase
the marketability of their products.
The problem up to now has been that we and our vendors cannot
offer IPOD access to downloadable audiobooks unless Apple is willing
to allow us to do so. Thus far, Apple hasn't been willing. Our vendors
are doing their best to address this issues and we have some hope
that they may be successful in the months to come.
