Evening in the Stacks

All aboard for an unforgettable night of celebration and impact! Guests stepped aboard the S.S. Readership and enjoyed coastal‑inspired cuisine, specialty drinks, dancing, and dazzling surprises — all in support of HCLS’s early literacy classes and resources. Just as a cruise charted a course toward new horizons, your generosity helped the Library open doors to opportunity and discovery for our community’s youngest learners.

Guests breathed in the night air and indulged their senses at a lush, dream-filled celebration. The evening featured an open bar, a vibrant dance floor, and a bouquet of entertainment, along with gourmet cuisine by Rouge Catering, signature cocktails from The Wine Bin, and non-alcoholic offerings by Sobar.
Proceeds from the event supported HCLS’ early childhood initiatives, helping our community’s youngest learners bloom.

Guests enjoyed this lavish affair as they savored an excellent dinner, refreshed at the open bar, bloomed on the dance floor, and enjoyed a bouquet of activities with the Flower-full Mart.

Dressed for the POP-arazzi in current pop culture-inspired attire, we raised funds for Battle of the Books at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

We celebrated the continent of Africa as we supported the library, from the Mediterranean coast and the Nile in the north to the cities, grasslands, and deserts in Central Africa to the rainforests of the south.
